When You Are Aware That the Universal Christ Is Awake in You, There Is No Worry

There is something man is always searching for.

Peace. Happiness. Love. Security. Joy. Satisfaction.

Yet he often searches for these things outside of himself. He looks for them in money, relationships, attention, education, possessions, accomplishments, and the things of this world.

But no matter how much he receives, the search continues.

Jesus describes this way of living in Matthew 6:

“For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”

Matthew 6:32–34 NIV

Here we can begin to see the difference between the human nature and the Christ nature.

The human nature believes:

Things first, then peace.

If I have enough money, then I will feel secure.
If I receive enough love, then I will feel loved.
If everything goes the way I want, then I will have peace.

So man runs after the outward thing, hoping that the thing will produce the inward state.

But Christ gives us the opposite understanding:

Kingdom first.

“Seek first his kingdom.”

When the Universal Christ is awake in you, you begin to understand that peace, love, joy, security, and completeness do not begin with something outside of you.

They begin within.

Then the question becomes:

What is the Kingdom of God?

Jesus tells us that the Kingdom is not something we can locate with our physical eyes.

“The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Luke 17:20–21 NIV

The Kingdom is not a material thing.

It cannot be bought.

It cannot be found in a particular possession, person, accomplishment, or place.

Jesus says no one will be able to say, “Here it is,” or “There it is.”

Why?

Because the Kingdom is not something outside of you that you must run after.

It is a spiritual reality.

It is where we awaken to the presence of God and begin to realize our oneness with Him.

And God is the Word.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1 NIV

This Word has existed from the beginning.

It is Truth.

It is the pure conversation of God that does not speak according to fear, lack, appearances, or insecurity. It speaks according to what God knows.

And what did God declare concerning His creation?

It is good.

This is why, when the Universal Christ is awake in you, your conversation begins to change.

You are no longer looking outside of yourself for something to give you peace.

You begin to live from the Kingdom within.

And from this consciousness, worry begins to disappear because you are no longer depending upon the outward condition to tell you whether you are safe, loved, whole, or complete.

The human consciousness says:

“When everything outside of me is right, then I will have peace.”

But the awakened Christ consciousness says:

“The Kingdom is first.”

Peace first.
Love first.
Truth first.

Then everything else takes its proper place.

This is the state of no worry Jesus reveals in Matthew 6.

The Kingdom of God is not a thing or a physical place.

It is a state of consciousness in which we become aware of God within, aware of Truth, and aware of the finished goodness of His creation.

When the Universal Christ is awake in you, you no longer run after peace.

You discover that peace was already within.

That is the Kingdom first.
